Being in touch with creative people, who generate things, makes a world of a difference. While the rest of the web seems to be full of jealous, idle trolls, this place is a golden haven I'm so glad to have found.
Ergol (OC) WIP
After months of not doing any artwork, I finally started sketching my OC "Ergol" 🍄 I began 3D-sculpting him live on Twitch 🤗 https://www.twitch.tv/aemiliuslives I didn't think I would make much progress and was just blocking some shapes, but in the end, it came up better than I anticipated and might actually be usable. "Ergol" was going to be my 2023 passion project, but for a variety of reasons (including my laptop breaking in December), I didn't manage to make much with it. But here we are, and there's always 2024, lol. VOD of the actual stream (I only began streaming last week, lol).
My 2022 into 2023
So, 2022 marked my 10th year on dA. For a variety of reasons, it's been one of my most inactive years here. But it's still been pretty productive. In April I did my 3D-sculpting Daily Challenge for the 7th time. I finally managed to put together the video showcasing all the renders, WIPs, turntable animations, and alternative renders of the 30 sculptures. Again with some terrible unscripted commentary (CC available). Take a shot every time I say I love something or something was fun to make, and you might end up in an alcoholic coma, lol. Also featured towards the end of the video, a look at some of the animation work I did this year, and what to expect from me for 2023. Animation (sort of basic and rudimentary, of course) is going to be my main goal next year. I finally put together this year’s 3D-Sculpting Daily Challenge wrap up video. Featuring all the renders, WIPs, turntable animations, and alternative renders of the 30 sculptures I did back in April. For the first time, I recorded unscripted commentary for this (CC available), which is something I always wanted to do (but I always chickened out of it). It didn’t come out great, but I’m ready to move on from this and call it done after so many months. LOL. Hello. I hope everyone is doing fine in these unusual and scary times we're living.
I've been away from dA for nearly a year. Not only that: I've been almost completely disconnected from the community and from my "creative side" as well. I wanted to do many things. Like opening my own group, collab, support my friends, perhaps finally do commissions and stuff I always talked about. Instead, I drew back into a cocoon of isolation and darkness.
This time of social-distancing (or full-on lockdown in my case), feels like a good time to go back to making things. Occupying my mind in this time of uncertainty, try to build up some hope, and scratc
